Moshi Moshi Pussy

I had a student who has a history of using the cell phone in class. She can't live without it it seems.Just before she left school to go to an University of Fine arts, she showed me a huge painting she made. I was quite impressed. I humbly showed photos of some of my cats. "Wow, can you make one for me? she asked. I made her a Moshi Moshi Pussy. I was not only inspired by the problems she got by using her telephone so much, but also by this funny video.

A burning red background, a poisonous cat calling "FFF". Is it "Freight, Fight Flight" or is it the 6th letter of the alphabet. Your name in kanji like characters. Is this Voodoo?

I am not really an artist or a serious painter. I just like playing around with paint. About 25 years ago I started paining deers and hunters in a very primitive style. Also I painted trees. All my paintings were signed with my Georg A. pseudonym signature (A. stands for for Alexander). This actually resulted in my nickname Sjors. Nowadays I don't know better, I am Sjors. I think I stopped painting around 1988 and concentrated me more on making music. In 2009 I was tickled again by the painting virus. I started painting funny cats, again under my Georg A. Pseudonym.

The wonderful world of Lucky Cats

I do not know where my cats came from. I had seen a paining of a kind of rectangular cat playing with a ball. I never found out who was the painter and actually do not even know what that painting looks like. If someone thinks he knows what paining it is, I actually really like to know.

My lucky cats are mostly painted in impossible colors. Some have texts written (Chinese or Japanese) on them, like the "Mushi Mushi cats". Some are inspired on old Russian holy icons. My "First Aid" teacher makes icons. I call these Holy Cats. Also there are Schottisch cats, Tortoise Cats, Candy Cats and Tiger cats. Probably even more will follow in the future.

All my cats are square or rectangular shaped and, of course, out of proportion. That is why they look so funny. I considder it a sport to let the head looks as small as possible compared to their body.

When I paint them, it's often just "another Lucky Cat". When they are placed in a room or public space, it is like they come to life. They seem to belong in that place. For that reason I sometimes hide a cat in a bag if it is dedicated to someone. The cat suposes to come to life in that person's personal space.
