Silence

It's not my strongest point, painting realistic. I never intend to paint realistic either. Still, I wanted to do this, after I saw the Doctor Who "Night of the Proms". Some people in the audience had tally marks on their arms, related to a Doctor Who episode featuring the "Silence". The silence look creepy (inspired by both "The Scream" of Munch and the man in Men In Black movie. Although they look creepy, you won't remember them as soon as you look away. The only way to see if you encounter this species is by tally them on your body.
My little pink cat also encountered the Silence…
I found a new canvas format of 15 x 15 cm. This gives me a little bit more freedom in painting, but it the painting still looks cute and small.

M*A*S*H*

I served my country as a laborant in a field hospital, at the entrance of the surgery. The Dutch variant of this hospital is called an LCVH, but internationally it's better known as a MASH (Mobile Army Surgery Hospital). My company operated internationally under the name 121 MASH (121 LCVH-cie). Somehow I got the idea of reflecting my service time (which was actually a very good time) in some of my cat paintings.
I think this cat is th master of the band aid room. I wanted to do a dessert pink background, but when I finished it looked more like the Hansaplast sticky plasters you use to put on small wounds. Hansaplast is in most countries known as Elastoplast.
I think this is a funny coincidence.
Introducing a kind of self invented Army Stencil font.

Native Love!

Long before I started painting cats, I made pretty primitive paintings, inspired by hunting scenes of cave paintings. also with returning themes, hunted deer and hunters (male and female). As a little wink to my past I made these two cats with native themes. The first show crocodiles, the second dancers. I had the idea for making these a long time, but I looked up against painting the crocodiles. I think the end result is pretty nice.

2010

Long time I have posted new cats, but that does not mean I didn't paint new cats. I painted this cat a few months ago and I have not really a clue what was the idea behind it. It'a a friendly orange tiger with magenta stripes. It looks like he's thinking. I gave it the title "2010", but I can't remember why. There must have been a reason, but I simply forgot. There is a silver spot in the air. It might be Venus. End November 2013 Venus was extreme bright here.
