Sweet Kitty.

Do you also like sweets. I do. I'm not fond of artificial strawberry taste, which is very popular. If you want to make me happy, give me forest fruit.

My favorite candy at the moment is a little anise candy, natural flavored with violets. Also the rose flavor is fantastic. It seems to come together in this painting.

Turtle in monochrome.

It's spring! Look at this happy turtle. I love turtles and spring... I named this cat "Kato", like Inspector Clouseau's house boy.

Airborne!

I had a dream about flying cats. I was clever enough to remember how the wings looked like. It reminds me a bit on a Laurel and Hardy movie, where elephants were flying south. It must have been pink elephants.Of course it's a big wink to the expression "Yes, and pigs might fly!".

Turtle in a bamboo forest.

A tiger would be able to hide in a bamboo forest. I don't think it is a good place to hide for a yellow tortoise. He's big, he's curious, he'll manage.

Storm coming?

Well, not now. It has been the warmest Easter weekend since the weather stations recorded temperatures. We spend two days at the beach this weekend. This blue tiger has less luck. He's in a storm, a purple storm. It even looks like a storm on Jupiter, but that's impossible. cat's can't walk there.

Claw Boys.

"Rainbow star, oh you fly too high, above our heads just held by a string
Look how Rose cause the fall is coming, your shadow tells the state you're
in"

I was watching some program about Dutch artists from the past. I wasn't really paying attention, until I heard the voice of Peter te Bos, the singer of the infamous band Claw Boys claw. In 1992 they had their most famous hit with "Rosie". Rosie got it made. How does Rosie look like?

Spanish Cats

So my friend Adan in Madrid is going to sent the paintings to El Xispas and Toni Toni, but then he has empty places on the wall. He liked to have a blue cat. Well I worked something out for him.

The first one is a kind of "Pussy in the Sky, with Diamonds", but this cat is glowing.  Well, it's a blue cat.

Second cat is walking in a wild environment. Is it a jungle? I don't know. Thus yellow tiger has a good camouflage in the bamboo jungle, specially for the color blind.

Cinnamon dreams...

On the other side of the island I live on is a pittoresque city called Veere. In some streets it is like it is still 17th century. When it is nice weather, we often cycle through this small city. There is always one obliged stop, "Grandma's Candy Shop". My favorite candy, Fudge and cinnamon candy.
Maybe the best are the little cinnamon cushions, creme brown with res stripes. It's so delicious, I dream about it. I dreamt about this candy last winter.
I went to local shops, but I couldn't find my beloved grandma's cinnamon cushions. I made this cinnamon cat last winter, hoping on better times.
Luckily it's spring and the temperatures are rising to pleasent cycling weather. I finally found my cinnamon cushions. The melancholic taste is delicious.

Spanish King of G cat and two other cats.

I painted three cats for my Spanish friends Adan, Toni Toni and El Xispas (Spanish for "Spark", he is an electrician). Well, there must have been a mix up, as Adan thought they were all for him. He had his new house decorated with these cats. Well, it seems solved now, but now Adan had two empty spots, so he asked me to make two new cats, to fill in the empty spots. Well, I finished two nice cats for him, that will be heading to Madrid soon.
Here photo's of the paintings hanging on Adan's wall in Madrid. The big one is called "Spanish King of G" , the upper right might be called "Spark" and the one below is probably called "Las Vegas".
